Humility Is The Key To God’s Kingdom

Jesus Christ categorically stated in Luke 18:17 saying that whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, shall in no wise enter into it. Humility is one of the major qualities possessed by Children as well as some other virtues which include love, gentleness, joy, kindness, total trusting, forgiveness, love , peace, sincerity, care, dependence, confidence in their parents, as well as being teachable.

So there is no doubt that humility is a quality that makes children stand out and whosoever is humble will easily exhibit all other admirable qualities.

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

The Bibles says in James 4: 6 that God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. One may ask, grace to do what? And the answer to that question is the reason why humility is very important when it comes to dealing with God. Any body that wants the attention of God must learn how to be humble in all things and at all times.

Humility makes God to give us the grace to possess all other important virtues and qualities that are necessary for the Kingdom of God in order to live a righteous and fulfilled life. Humility buys us the grace to live God’s kind of Life.

THESE ARE SOME OF THE REASONS WHY JESUS COMPARED THE QUALIFICATION FOR ENTRY INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD TO THE BEHAVIOUR OF A LITTLE CHILD

  • A child is humble
  • A child trusts completely without doubts
  • A child does not bear grudges
  • A child is forgiving
  • A child does not count wrong or remember offenses
  • A child does not exercise himself in matters that a too high for him
  • A child has no bitterness
  • A child does not know lusts
  • A child is loving and caring
  • A child does not engage in wickedness or practice unrighteousness
  • A child appreciates
  • A child is always joyful
  • A child does not worry about anything
  • A child is hopeful
  • A child is gentle

  • A child has unwavering faith and believes without questioning.
  • A child is peace loving
  • A child is patient
  • A child loves to help others in need
  • A child is not immoral
  • A child is not sinful etc.

Humility is a virtue that encompasses every other good and desirable quality. It is a complete virtue because a humble person is teachable and ever willing to learn, unlearn and continue learning in total obedience.

Humility is not puffed up and values others above himself as well as their opinions, in other words, a humble person is not self centered or proud. No wonder God gives grace to the humble to even become better but resists the proud.

A humble person will live in harmony with his neighbours and always respect boundaries irrespective of their estate or social status. Humility before God is a sign of submission to the will of God and His sovereignty.

Humility guarantees promotion and honour as well as riches and life. Proverbs 22:4 By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life. 1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

One cannot pray without humility, and it is only humility that admits wrong doing and asks for forgiveness. This is why the Bible says in 2 Chronicles 7:14, that if God’s people, which are called by His name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will He hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
